First coined by the anarhist philosopher Peter Kropotkin as a cooperative organisational model for disaster relief, it has developed in recent years in an attempt to meet contemporary circumstances of scarcity and survival needs. This workshop is inspired by a recent reading of the book "Mutual Aid, Building Solidarity during this Crisis and the Next," by the American activist and writer Dean Spade, which just had it's updated second print in spring 2026. For the purposes of this workshop, I will make an attempt to bring some of the advice and priciples that Spade offers out of the American (cultural, and legal) context, and into the Dutch practice. After an informal lecture, there will be space for sharing experiences, struggles, and best practices in organising.
